Is breakfast included with a stay at Black Sand Hotel?
Yes, a buffet breakfast is thoughtfully included with every stay.
Do you offer transfers from Reykjavík?
Private transfers can be arranged upon request for an additional fee.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes, you may modify or cancel your booking up to 48 hours before your scheduled check-in, unless your booking is non-refundable.
Is the hotel suitable for children?
Yes, families are warmly welcome at the hotel. Baby cots are available, and sofa beds are provided in selected room types for guests up to 16 years old. Interconnecting family rooms can be arranged for added space and convenience.
How do I get to the hotel by car?
Black Sand Hotel is at Óseyrartangi 2, 816 Ölfus, about 40 minutes from Reykjavík and a little over an hour from Keflavík International Airport.
Do you have charging for electric cars?
Yes, we have charging for up to six electric cars. Please ask at reception for current rates.
What time zone is Iceland in?
Iceland is on GMT (UTC+0) all year round. There is no daylight saving time.
Is there an iron in the room?
Irons are not kept in the rooms, but you are welcome to borrow one at reception.
Can I smoke at the hotel?
The hotel is entirely non-smoking, including e-cigarettes and vapes. Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas.
What plugs and voltage do the rooms have?
Sockets in Iceland are the European type C/F, 230 V and 50 Hz. If your devices use a different plug, please bring an adapter.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is included with every stay.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed at the hotel. Service animals are welcome with valid documentation.
Can I check in early or check out late?
Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Early check-in and late check-out may be possible on request, depending on availability. Please contact reception.
I am leaving before breakfast. Can I take breakfast with me?
Yes. Let reception know in advance and we will prepare a breakfast to take with you for €20.
Can I have breakfast if I arrive before check-in?
Yes, breakfast is available before check-in for €30.
Is the hotel accessible for wheelchair users?
Yes. The hotel is accessible by ramp, with lifts between floors, and our Superior King Rooms have bathrooms designed for wheelchair users.
