A world apart, forty minutes from the city
Black Sand Hotel sits along the coast at Óseyrartangi, where the Ölfusá river meets the open Atlantic, at the gateway to the Golden Circle and the South Coast.
Opened in 2026, Black Sand Hotel has 79 rooms overlooking the Atlantic and the mouth of the Ölfusá. The hotel is also home to ÓMUR restaurant and an oceanfront spa set to open later this year.
Beyond the hotel, the quiet coastal villages of Þorlákshöfn, Eyrarbakki, and Stokkseyri are all within a twenty-minute drive along the coast.
